Consensus KoTH
A distributed King-of-the-Hill cyber-range referee that served RECON's live event load while deploying vulnerable machines across nodes and controlling lifecycle, quorum scoring, ownership validation, enforcement, recovery, telemetry, and dashboards.
Control-plane architecture, quorum scoring model, SSH deployment fan-out, HAProxy routing, rule engine, persistence, dashboards, test/QA tooling, and 24-machine challenge topology.
Preventing single-node claims from deciding ownership while handling unhealthy replicas, rotations, drift, bans, recovery, and intentionally vulnerable services during 600+ concurrent-user event traffic.
Built a referee-managed competition system with 8 challenge series, 24 vulnerable machines, quorum ownership, rollback-aware rotation, participant dashboards, and admin recovery controls that held up cleanly during the live event.
